Hello and welcome to my first ever blog on my own site, it’s a little weird because at the minute I know no-one is reading this!
It’s been a while since I crafted for fun for one reason or another but today I decided to sit down and make some cards. My inspiration? The fabulous Tattered Lace Embellishment die from Hobbycraft stores and online. It’s my new favourite thing!
I love the fact that this die can be used to create embellishments in any colour and so will work for any style of project.
The card I created is for my fabulous friend who lives in Canada and features the gorgeous Flopsy and Friends CD Rom or paper kit, both available from http://www.crafting.co.uk
To create the perfect card for my matting and layering I used 250gsm supersmooth card, cut it to size and coloured the edges with a magenta promarker, this picks out the vibrant pinks in the topper and background.
Having cut the die from 250gsm supersmooth I then used magenta and pink carnation promarkers to colour the flower and centre, magenta for the swirls and forest green to colour the leaves before arranging them in the corner as you can see to create my own embellishment.
The finished card – hope you like!
So let me know what you think to the card, and also the blog and I’ll be back with more crafty news soon 🙂
