Welcome to my world, sometimes a little hectic but a fab place to be!

Messy crafty days :)

Today has been a fabulous day in my crafty world, I have two bargain shows on Monday 27th May in the Mr Mayhem weekend event and they involve stamps, gilding flakes, embossing powder and tons more!

Thought I’d share some sneak peeks of my planned demos (if the stock is there long enough!)

So first up is one which we don’t have a huge amount of stock of so if you want this one you’ll have to be quick!!

I’m going to be gilding a doily and making this card, the stamped image has been coloured with promarkers in lovely soft colours that tone with the gilding flakes before being matted onto the fabulous duo double sided backgrounds also on the show 🙂

Next is a card made using the floral borders stamps which I’ve used on the satin paperstock and doily, these were heat embossed to add extra pizazz, then I used the fab retro alphabet to add a sentiment.

I’ll also be demonstrating the lovely tassels and more stamps in rich purples and golds. To create the background I sprinkled a combination of two embossing powders onto the design that had been stamped with versa mark and then distressed it with dusty concord ink. I sprinkled the rest of the mixed powders over a second piece of distressed card for matting and layering before stamping the image and colouring with promarkers.

The last sneak peek for today is for the summer smiles stamp set, the duo background has been over stamped with a background stamp from the kit and embossed in peach Melba embossing powder. I stamped the image with a mix of rusty hinge and vintage photo and then coloured with promarkers. The floral decoration is created using the second tattered lace floral embellishment die.

I hope you like these cards, join me to see them in action on Monday at 2pm and 7pm 🙂

What a week!

Well the start of this week was one I don’t particularly want to remember in a hurry! I was struck down at the end of last week with a nasty throat infection that it would appear I picked up on the plane home from my lovely holiday – not the kind of souvenir I was hoping for lol! It knocked me off my feet for five days straight which meant I missed some of my shows at Create and Craft, although the pick of the weeks were such bargains they had all sold out by the time my shows were due anyway but that’s not the point is it?! But the week did get much better…….

We made an exciting announcement this week, the very lovely Kathy Mills is joining the Creative team at MCS towers and will be doing some shows, hopefully this week. It’s great to have Kathy on the team alongside Stephanie, Nancy and myself, I’m really excited about working with her.

Since being back at work late this week we have been working together on the prep for the Tattered Lace POD that Nancy will be showing this week, the POD shows are Weds/Thurs this week so don’t miss them! The pod this time is the most affordable Tattered lace one to date and includes 29 sentiment dies. Here are a few of the samples we’ve been making between us:

Nancy made this one and I just adore the papers, they are from Hot off the Press Red Velvet collection and I may have to invest in some of those and the flowers on this are created from the second in my absolute favourite sets in the tattered lace range – floral embellishments, these dies are soooo versatile and craft able, I will be getting this one to add to my growing collection! Don’t you just love the way nancy has displayed the sentiment on here too? Such a beautiful card….

I really enjoyed playing with the peacock Die on this project, I cut the die then covered it with versamark ink before sprinkling different embossing powders over it to get the multi tonal effect – I do love playing with powders and inks, messy fun is fab!!!

And this one, when you see it in the flesh, is quite simply stunning. Stephanie used gilding flakes behind the mask die and on some doilies to create one of the most opulent cards I think I have ever seen.

So that was this week, next week is going to be a busy one as we finalise the prep for the shows but I’ll catch up again soon 🙂

Bye for now xx
