Inky messy fun!

So today I’ve had great fun finishing off my ATCs for this months challenge. The ATC swap that I take part in is run on Twitter by @sezzied78 (Sarah) and this months theme was flowers.

Earlier in the week I stamped and coloured my main flowers and background cards with promarkers for the ATCs and the plan was to keep them nice and clean looking. However, today I went to finish them off and my roll of silver craft metal had fallen onto my desk from the top of the cupboard so I decided it was a sign that I had to use it on my ATCs! Time for a slight change of creative direction….

I ran the metal through my Ebosser in an embossing folder – this really stiffens the metal and gives incredible detail – then I got out my alcohol inks, these haven’t been out for aaagggees, far too long!

So I used Cranberry, Wild Plum, Lettuce and Butterscotch as these would tone nicely with the colours I’d used on the flowers. I always mix a little on a scrap piece to get the colours blending before going onto my project:

I then used a Tattered Lace alphabet die to cut my letters from gold mirror card and used the ink that was left in the felt pad to colour tint these and it was time to put them together!

Here’s a sneaky peek of how it all turned out!

Oh! And the stamp is one of my old favourites I got years ago from the lovely website Stamping Bella

Hope you like them, and fingers crossed I’ll get the go ahead soon to show you some of the designs I’ve been watercolouring today for an up & coming launch…..
