So it’s pick of the week time on Create & Craft and this time it’s the turn of My Craft Studio to take centre stage with the stunning Wishes and Whispers cd set. With 19 shows planned there are quite a few samples that I can share!
When we decided to do a new disc of fairies we wanted them to look like storybook fairies, the beautiful fairies we all remember from our childhood with the innocent faces and flowing beautiful dresses. So we turned to Lisa Fox, children’s illustrator, a lovely lady that we have worked with before for our cd Roms. This time was a little different though as she hadn’t worked with fairies before so we worked together to get the look we wanted and then came up with the scenarios for the fairies.
I had an absolute blast making the samples for these shows and it’s only been going for just over 24 hours and we are over a quarter of the stock sold so its already touch and go as to whether it will last the week!
The first sample I want to share with you is one of my many favourites – I’m rather fickle when it comes to favourites with these fairies so expect to see more favourites over the next few days….
So for this one I printed the topper, background and sentiment from the disc all on one sheet of supersmooth to save paper and got busy with the crafting!
I used my a4 dotty embossing folder from Crafters Companion to emboss some gorgeous purple centura pearl paper. I cut the topper to size and used a Dusty Concorde Distress Ink Pad to add extra detail to the edges and created a little matting and layering for the topper.
Next I cut the background to the right size for the card and added more Dusty Concorde to this before matting onto the embossed pearl and popping onto the card front.
I added the topper with Shaker Tape to give a little more dimension.
Next I added the gorgeous dandelion die cut that I made with my Tattered Lace die, supersmooth card and the fab glitters that we have on the shows too and finished with the sentiment from the disc that I also glittered with the help of a quickie glue pen!
Let me know what you think, back with more soon….
