Welcome to my world, sometimes a little hectic but a fab place to be!

A little card I made today

So when there are two new product launches that are equally beautiful and you need to make samples it quite simply makes sense to use them together and when they work together this beautifully you just have to!!!

Tune into Create and Craft at 8am on Monday 3rd March to see Liz showing off the beautiful Blooming Marvellous four day deal from My Paper Stash which is the paper kit that includes mini postcards that are just begging to be stamped with some fabulous Sentiment Stamps (which incidentally only cost £4.99 and are beautiful!) and cut into lovely flowers! Here I’ve used the postcards from the pad with Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink and added some Prima Free Spirit Papers in the background .

Next I cut some of the fabulous Tattered Lace Lavish Blooms from both the Blooming Marvellous and Prima papers along with some leaves and created some ridiculously beautiful flowers! And they are so easy to make! I don’t know about you but I just love them, tune in to see those at 9pm on Tuesday with Nancy

Change of plan / show dates!

Ok so the lovely new Lavish Blooms from Tattered Lace are now launching with the legend that is Nancy Watt on Tuesday night at 9pm on Ideal World. I believe there may be another issue of the magazine launching on this show too………

Mondays 8am launch will be our wonderful new My Paper Stash Blooming Marvellous paper pack which will be showcased by the lovely Liz Curtis

Here is little canvas that I created using paper from Liz’s kit and the dies from Nancy’s! The coloured bits of the flower are the printed sheets from Liz’s kit that I coloured with promarkers for a different look – you still see the pattern through the ink 🙂 ps I even coloured the canvas with a promarker too so that it co-ordinated perfectly too…

Don’t throw that old frame away!

I’ve had the ok to blog the projects that I made recently so here we go…..

Here are a few things I made using the fabulous new Lavish Blooms Dies from Tattered Lace that Nancy will be launching on Monday.

Here is an old frame that was chipped on the corner which hubby was about to throw away so I rescued it and got out some of my old die cuts with a view papers, printed a sentiment and got cutting with the bloom dies! There are three different flowers, leaves, stamens and more in the set that will launch on Create and Craft at 8am Monday, I think it turned out ok…

And here are some close ups…

After I’d finished the frame I had flowers leftover that just neeeeeeded to be used so I got an old chipboard blank box and decorated with the same papers and flowers…

And with the last flowers I decided to decorate a bottle as that seems to be quite popular at the moment!

A little something else I made today

It’s all about Tattered Lace this weekend! Stay tuned for more…..

Just a tease this week……

So this week I’m teasing you with this picture of some flowers made with new Tattered Lace dies that haven’t been released yet!

I was lucky enough to bring a set of them home this weekend and have created something with some papers out of my stash that I will reveal a little closer to the launch date…..

Bright & breezy card for a wet & windy day

Well this card certainly brightened my afternoon! It was so miserable here in Derbyshire that I tucked myself away in my craft room while hubby was putting new shelves in the airing cupboard – best to keep out of the way sometimes!

The stamp is one I got ages ago, think it was a freebie on a magazine but I hadn’t used it until today – I don’t usually do this style of card but today she was calling out to me! The first thing I did was to choose my papers – they were from a Die Cuts With a View set I got (again) ages ago and were in my stroking pile but I’ve decided to start using them and I’m pleased I have! Next was to find the right colour pens to go with the papers before I started colouring….

Once I’d done the colouring I got out my new spellbinders rounded squares and the fabulous Core d’inations So Mod card stack out and got cutting. To matt & layer them I just layered with a guillotine and rounded the corners with scissors.

For the main matting and layering I used the same papers and pink card from So Mod, although you’ll see later that I changed my mind about the style of layers 🙂 I also cut two of the fabulous new Double Delights die from the Tattered Lace Magazine Issue 2 and after working out the layout of the card I chopped up my die cut! Don’t worry, all will become clear…

Once I’d done the matting and layering I decided it was too busy and that I needed some white space in the centre so I cut the area between my die cut borders away. This meant that when I added the flowers – a combination of old cuttlebug dies and my favourite Tattered Lace Floral Dies they didn’t get lost on the background. Then I finished with one of my new favourite Heartfelt Sentiment Stamps and voila! Here are a few pics for you, hope you like!

First card in months :)

Good morning crafty peeps! Hope you are all well, I’m thrilled to be going back to work tomorrow after nearly three months off with trapped nerves and all kinds of other neck/arm issues! It’s a tentative return of a few hours a day but it’s a start!

Anyway, in build up to my return I decided to make a card last week and here it is!

20140304-212532.jpgHope you like, info below on how I made it 🙂

Unusually for me on this one I decided on the colour first. I had an off cut of the beautiful blue Centura Pearl that was begging to be embossed so I decided it would look fab with the all over dots from the Embossalicious Dottie folder which then led me to create a clean and simple card.

So I started by getting out my Stamping Bella stamps out again. I stamped and coloured with promarkers as shown in the following three images:

I then cut this out and got out one of my favourite old Hero Arts border stamps and created a background using a Marvy le Plume pen which matched beautifully!

Next was another fun part! It was time to use my new Perfect Layers rulers for my matting and layering, again I kept it simple with just a couple of layers

And now it was time to embellish the card so I trimmed a strip of leftover stamped background with ribbon and added it to the card front.

Next I stamped a sentiment – this one was a freebie from a magazine – decorated it with the stamp from the background, used a Spellbinders Nestability die to cut it, matted onto Centura pearl and trimmed with a small border. And then I finished with a little knot of ribbon to add a little dimension.
