How much?!

So yesterday I went out for breakfast with my brother and sister and while out we were quite close to a craft/homeward store so I dragged them in to look at the pretty crafty things.

I really wanted some little crochet flowers for putting on my cards but it seems that because crochet lace is so popular in card making at the moment the prices have rocketed! Needless to say I wasn’t going to pay nearly £5 for 4 tiny flowers when what I wanted was bigger anyway…

When I got home, got out my crochet encyclopedia and got started! Ok so it took me a little while to make these items, only a few minutes per flower but the lace was a bit longer and I still need to sew in the ends, however, these haven’t cost me anything but a little time – the cotton thread was in my lovely mother-in-law’s leftover bit box so I didn’t even have to buy that! The yarn is a 4 ply cotton thread and I used a 3mm hook, the yarn gives great stitch definition and the hook gives just the right sizes for card making!

So there you have it, why buy when you can make your own for free!?!
