Welcome to my world, sometimes a little hectic but a fab place to be!

Easter treat and not a chocolate in sight!

I have been very lucky this Easter, I got to have a sneak peek at and play with some brand new stamp designs from Dreamees. In fact they are so new that they don’t even launch until Friday 25th April at 10am! Tune in to see Carol & Hayley in action but here are my creations for the weekend:

With this first one I wanted to go back to where card making began for me many years ago with just plain card, ink and stamps so everything on here is either inked or stamped, the butterflies are created by stamping 3 and putting them back to back before opening up the centre one and attaching to the card. The painting on the tree is even done with the same Victorian Velvet Distress ink pad

For my next card I got out some of my favourite Tattered Lace dies, the Doily Flourish and the Double Delights Adore and some zingy papers that I’ve had in my stash for years! I also did a little masking on the vase to create the crackle effect using one of the background stamps in the set

And finally I just got inky and messy with my Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink and some Stickles glitter glue! I love this bicycle stamp, it’s so summery and cheery, I re-stamped the basket to get the extra flowers and placed them in between the flowers on the original stamped image to fill the basket out even more. As I didn’t have the right colour of card for the matting and layering I used promarkers on the edges and then smudged Stickles over with my finger. I also used promarkers to add some detail to the honeycomb background – another stamp in the set!

Ribbon bits sorted!

Evening all! Well I wasn’t up to a full on crafting session today so I decided to make a bit of head way into sorting out the carnage that is my ribbon box!

I got an old cross stitch thread box that wasn’t being used and wrapped the different colours around clothes pegs before section into them into the box, I think it’ll work for now, not sure what to do with the rest of it though

Masking fun with Dreamees stamps

This will be a quick post but I promised yesterday to share my creations from this weekend and teased you with thoughts of stamps from Dreamees so here is today’s creation

I wanted to keep this card quite simple and elegant and let the stamp do the talking so I got to work masking because in this gorgeous set you get some fabulous bluebell/snowdrop style stamps and I wanted them in the vase so here’s how I masked it off

Next I got yet more promarkers out and did my colouring. I coloured everything below the water the same colour as above then went over with the April shower that I used for the water to give it the illusion of actually being under water. Now I wouldn’t usually mix blues and yellows but as nature dictates when you have beautiful flowers anything goes so I went for it. I actually really love the finished result with the added detail of the Tattered Lace Cherished Flourish. Hope you do too. Here are some close ups 🙂

Easter Blooms

Have you ever had an off cut left that you just suddenly decide to use? Well today I just felt the urge to use up the background on is card and the tiny off cuts that I had to co-ordinate so I printed out the FREE Tatty Twinkle Easter Download and got out my faithful promarkers!

I didn’t know I was going to use a Lavish Bloom Flower from Tattered Lace Dies until I’d started putting the card together. I also got out my very old deckle edged scissors too to give this card something a little (but not too) different! But putting that flower on ( I used the lily and leaves) means I can tell you all about the new Tattered Lace Challenge Blog which is a fab place where you can join in the challenges and win prizes – you don’t need a blog to join in either you can email your entries.

So as always, here are some close ups of this card – hope you like 🙂

Tatty Twinkle’s Easter Parade!

I know most of you guessed but my sneaky peek the other day was indeed an Easter Tatty Twinkle but what you didn’t guess was that she is a FREE download from
www.crafting.co.uk – how fabulous is that? AND on the download sheet is cheeky little discount code for you to use over the Easter weekend too!

So here’s a little card I made today – go get your download now and get crafty!

So who is this little cutie?!

You know those days when you get up planning to do some colouring with your promarkers and you start the day by putting some washing in which leads to cleaning the kitchen which leads to tidying the lounge which leads to…you get the picture! Well it’s now 530pm and I have done a jot of colouring!

And here is the little cutie that I’m going to be colouring in a little while…..but the big question is who on earth is she and where did I get her?! Well, I might tell you more in a day or two…

So now I’ve sent hubby to kitchen to sort out some food (I cooked brekkie!) and I’ve just spent a little while sorting my promarkers into storage containers – my washing machine bubble boxes and I’m good to go 🙂
