Welcome to my world, sometimes a little hectic but a fab place to be!

Tatty Twinkle Sample 4

Here is my final sample for the Tatty Twinkle launch of the latest four designs.

This one was much easier than it looks, that’s the beauty of the stamps and Tattered Lace Dies! I cut an aperture in the card front with a Nestability die and also cut an aperture in a sheet of butterfly paper from the Tatty Twinkles CD Rom, I cut this to size to fit the card front and used Fotoglue to attach it. I cut the hydrangea border a few times and arranged around the aperture. I then stamped and cut out the flowers, added gems to the centre of the flowers and attached the stamped image swinging from the aperture.

I finished with a stamped sentiment, also decorated with a couple of the flowers and some Tattered Lace self adhesive gem flourishes.

Tatty Twinkle Sample 3

Here’s the full image of the third card I made for the tv launch of these stamps.

This is another quite simple card, I embossed the front of the Kraft Card card blank, inked it with Walnut Stain distress ink and then embellished using the Elegant Flourish from Tattered Lace Dies before I did some simple matting and layering and added the stamped image, this is a card where you let the stamp do the talking!

Tatty Twinkle Sample 2

Here is my second sample for the latest tv launch of Tatty Twinkles, this one uses papers from the Tatty Twinkles CD Rom, I scuffed the edges with scissors and then inked the edges.

Another thing to mention on this one is the Tattered Lace Hydrangea Border that I cut from funky foam and used as a stamp on the plain layers to add a little detail.

I love the colours on this one, it uses an off cut of one of my favourite DCWV sheets and I just happened to have promarkers and flowers that matched! I wanted to do something different to the regular pretty colours that I use so here we go, hope you like….

Not exactly papercraft but fun all the same!

Ok so I’ve been away for a couple of weeks and haven’t done much crafting for a little while now so as I’m making some cards etc but don’t have anything to show this weekend I thought I’d share my other ‘crafty’ love of this year with you!

I’ve always wanted to grow my own vegetables etc and since moving to this house about 2 1/2 years ago we hadn’t got round to sorting the garden yet which had been left in a dreadful state by the previous owners. Hubby had managed to get most of the lawn sorted but there was a bit that he just couldn’t get flat so I decided that we would use it for a veg plot!

Well of course this was the back end of last summer so we’d worked out roughly what we were planting where etc and got all the weeds / grass out. Then I had trouble with my arm so in April/May this year when we had to plant or forget it for another year poor old hubby ended up doing all the donkey work digging trenches while I just dropped in an onion or seed potato here and there!

His brother gave us some spare leek & bean plants that they had leftover so it was all guns blazing in the veg plot. We’ve had several crops of beans up to now and they look like they’re still going strong, but today as we were pulling up the onions we spotted an attack of the slugs on a couple of potato plants so thought we’d harvest those too, well hubby would do the digging and I’d get the potatoes out of the ground. I’m glad we did as we had already lost around a third of the crop so the timing was right for us, and we’ve still ended up with 15-20kilos of home grown potatoes – some of which we’ve just eaten and they were lovely!

So here are a couple of pics of our ‘hand crafted’ vegetables and I will share some pics of some cards when I’ve made them later this week!

More Dreamees stamping fun

So as well as spending some time with my awesome great-nephew this weekend I’ve also been spending some more time playing with the new stamps from Dreamees that launch at 1pm on Tuesday and here are my next three projects:

So for this first card I got a pre-made kraft card blank, cut a square from the front and stamped the baubles onto acetate. I glittered the baubles and left them to dry, I stamped the holly branch across the card and onto spare card and attached this to hang the baubles from. I then added glittered dots around the edge of the card and finally backed the aperture with cream card.

Next I decided to decorate a jumbo chipboard tag that I bought at Summer Crafting. I inked the edges with black in then covered with papers from the Simply Christmas cd that is also on the show. I tore a strip of the sentiment paper, inked everything and then stamped the two small baubles a few times onto papers from the disc, cut them out and used to create flowers. I inked the edge of the front of the tag with Versamark and used a white glittery embossing powder on it, then stamped the back with snowflakes in black then embossed some. Finished with a ribbon bow. I really liked how this turned out

And finally I decided to use one of my accordion card blanks with 5 faces to decorate, I used papers and sentiments from the disc, pearl card, tattered lace embossing folders and the Christmas Tree stamp – this was a quick and easy one and I love the colours on this set too.

So that’s my crafty projects from this weekend, I hope you like them as much as I enjoyed creating them!
